Australia's Leading Linux & Open Source Solutions Company

Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Cybersource announces Linux training following huge demand

Melbourne, Tuesday 1999-05-04

Melbourne Linux experts, Cybersource Pty Ltd, today announced it
would commence offering full-spectrum Linux training courses in response
to great customer demand.

"To my knowledge, we're the first in Australia to offer professional Linux
training." said Richard Keech, Cybersource's manager for Linux support.

Cybersource's first course, a Linux skills course was run in Melbourne
on Thursday 29 April. This will be followed by a System Administration
course.

"We've seen tremendous demand for training in the last three months.
Many people want to get into Linux and need a way to bootstrap themselves
with the necessary skills." said Keech.

The lack of training till now has been a factor holding Linux back. Now
this obstacle too has fallen.

Richard Keech, and Cybersource colleague David Keegel, were the first two
in Australia to be certified by Red Hat Software as Red Hat Certified
Engineers. Since then Richard has formalised his qualification by
attending Red Hat's RHCE course in North Carolina and has come back all
fired up to conduct training in Australia.

"Red Hat have been overwhelmed with the demand for their training. On the
course I did, there were representatives from IBM, HP, SGI and Compaq.
IBM alone is putting 80 people through the course in the US" said Keech.

Cybersource is currently Red Hat's support partner in Australia and has
been offering support contracts for Red Hat Linux since September '98.
Cybersource has complementary Linux offerings in consulting, support,
sales and now training. "Our depth of experience implementing solutions
in, and supporting Linux gives us a good basis for teaching on the
subject" said Keech.
